Abortion Finder privacy policy
Abortion Finder is a service provided by Abortion Support Network (ASN).
The first phase of the Abortion Finder project was funded by the Queen Mary University of London HSS Collaboration Fund (2020-2021). Views and opinions expressed in the text belong solely to Abortion Support Network, and not necessarily to Queen Mary University of London. Abortion Finder is maintained by Abortion Support Network.In order to provide the Abortion Finder service we need to collect, store and process some data, including personal data. Processing data
In order to provide the Abortion Finder service, respond to enquiries and provide information to people, we collect and process the following information:
- Information submitted through the website’s contact form and direct email address, which may include personal data. This includes name, email address, country, phone number and other information offered by the sender. Some of this data may include special categories of personal data – such as race, ethnicity, religious or philosophical beliefs, sex life, sexual orientation, political opinions, information about health and genetic and biometric data.
- Information received through the contact form and emails sent to the direct email address [email protected] are held and processed by ASN in line with ASN’s privacy policy.
- We may collect aggregated data on overall numbers of enquiries, clients by age, region or whatever, which does not include any identifying information.
Sharing data with others
In order to provide this service, information from enquiries will be shared with ASN, and may be shared with other members of Abortion Without Borders (AWB). All information will be managed and processed in line with ASN’s privacy policy. Your data will not be shared unless it is an essential part of providing the Abortion Finder service.
Data storage and retention
Personal data is stored securely through ASN’s server, password protected and access limited to those who need it to fulfil the requests for information.
We will store data for one year to ensure that we have sufficient records of contact and to provide follow up information if needed. We may store aggregate data without limitation where no individuals can be identified.
